What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned in your career?
I have learned that success consists of i)hard work and drive and ii) a little bit of luck…. and the luck part appears when you least expect it! I tell my daughters that you CAN do whatever you want if you work hard at it and want it bad enough. I have learned that there are so many people along the way who are willing to help others and share their own success with others.
If you had to do something else for a living, what would it be?
If I had to do something else for a living, I would be an executive coach, focusing on empowering women to do more of what they love. I would focus on writing and speaking about leadership skills and empowerment. I would find the time to speak with young women from cultures and backgrounds who do not have women role models to help them aspire to reach their potential.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am an avid runner and love Boot Camp exercise classes. This is the only time I am by myself and really think about many things or nothing at all. Some of my best ideas have been generated on a 10-mile run! I also enjoy attending my 3 daughters’ Sailing Regattas (15, 12 and 10yrs old). To see each of them race a sailboat out on open water, facing the elements, is an inspiration to me (I have not mastered that!)
